At first glance, the Fiat driver, who was very confused, was stopped by the city police near the main railway station in Brno before midnight on Tuesday. The reason was that he drove into the curfew in front of the local post office. “The officers first asked him to present the documents, but the verification itself seemed to be an actionable barrier,” said Markéta Skřivánková, spokeswoman for the Brno police officers.

The man only had his driver’s license and vehicle registration certificate with him. But the patrol immediately noticed that the photo on the document did not correspond to his real appearance, so she wanted to hear his real name from him. “The 35-year-old driver told the officers his first name without hesitation, but he soon changed it to another. When they asked what his last name was, he didn’t hesitate to ask the patrol what exactly was written on the driver’s license, because he obviously didn’t know the man’s name,” the spokeswoman described the confused behavior.

The driver tried to save everything by saying that he exchanged documents with a friend. However, even his name cannot be recalled. The statement that he has only had a driver’s license for a short time also aroused mistrust among the police officers.

The man was actually banned from driving. In addition, the driver’s license he used to prove himself was among those wanted. Which was confirmed by the summoning of the state police. “He became a suspect of committing a crime,” added Skřivánková.
