Caspian Sea. This was stated by Prime Minister of Russia Mikhail Mishustin during his speech at the Russian-Turkmen business forum. TASS.
“In particular, one of the promising projects currently being discussed is the construction of highways on the eastern coast of the Caspian Sea. “It is necessary to increase the cargo turnover of the Russian and Turkmen ports in the Caspian Sea, expand the supply of railway locomotives, freight and passenger cars,” said the head of the Russian Federation.
According to the prime minister, this trigger will be a significant development, waiting for the development of seaports, the emergence of service and transport and logistics centers.
Earlier, within the framework of the forum, representatives of Russian Railways and Turkmen Railways discussed transportation and logistics services. Cooperation between the two countries in the field of rail transportation is constantly growing – last year, the volume of cargo transportation from Russia through Turkmenistan along the North-South international transport corridor doubled compared to 2021.
