STUDENT LIFE: The AUBE union is asking itself the question of the distribution of CROUS resources between Burgundy and Franche-Comté
The Burgundy student union reacts to the comments of the director of CROUS Bourgogne-Franche-Comté concerning the collective catering offer for Dijon students.
Press release from the AUBE student union of January 13, 2023:
At AUBE (L’alternative Universitaire Bourguignonne et Étudiante) Dijon student union, member of L’alternative, we would have liked to be able to say to precarious students:
“No, the CROUS BFC does not require students to be housed in buildings infested with cockroaches and punished with beds
No, the CROUS BFC would never put pressure on its precarious tenants through a warning for a slight delay in payment, while the CROUS BFC regularly announces delays in the payment of the scholarship
No, the CROUS BFC could never have anticipated the increase in the number of students in Dijon and consequently adapted the infrastructures necessary for a quality public service.
Yes, the CROUS BFC is attentive to the needs of students
No, the CROUS BFC and its director would not have preferred to abandon the renovation of RU Maret in the city center 8 years ago, in defiance of the needs of Dijon students.
No, the CROUS BFC would never have left the situation as it is with 2 RUs and 5 cafeterias, hoping that the students will go to much more laudable cafeterias for lack of space in the RUs.
We suppose we liked to say that yes, the CROUS BFC is an ally objective against student precariousness and that there are enough social workers to quickly deal with emergency aid files.
Unfortunately, this is not the case and Dijon students worry about it on a daily basis!
The failures within the CROUS BFC are very real.
In a regional administration, we ask that these failures are due to poor management on the part of the CROUS Regional Directorate.
It is clear that our Besançon pairs do not encounter the same problems or at least not in the Dijon proportions. Could this be due to an inequitable distribution of resources between Burgundy and Franche-Comté?
The question is asked.
But one thing is certain, these failures are not entirely due to the lack of funding by the state of the network of works induced by the ultra liberal and dogmatic policy led by the government against the students whom it despises and precarious .
In the current context where galloping inflation is driving up prices and making students even more precarious, we demand to fight against student precariousness:
-The opening of a university restaurant on the Erasmus campus and the opening of a university restaurant in the city center to replace Maret who should never have disappeared,
-The return of the meal at 1€ for all,
-Comprehensive treatment of buildings infested with pests,
– The rapid processing of emergency aid files by increasing the number of social workers!
