Luhansk direction: the ZSU ends with a counteroffensive on Kreminna
The Armed Forces of Ukraine reportedly continued counteroffensive operations in the Kremennaya area on January 13. According to the General Staff of Ukraine, Ukrainian forces repelled the attacks of the occupiers in the area of Stelmakhivka (16 km west of Svatovo) and Makiivka (22 km northwest of Kreminska).
According to the Russian blogger, Ukrainian forces have concentrated significant forces in the area for an offensive on Kreminna, although ISW does not predict specific Ukrainian operations in the near future.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation stated that artillery units struck Ukrainian assault brigades in the area of Hryhorivka (11 km south of Kreminska) and Serebryanka (11 km southwest of Kreminska). The Ukrainian General Staff began that Ukrainian forces also reflected the advance of Russian troops in the area of Bilogorivka (12 km south of Kreminska).
Donetsk direction: Russian troops are trying to capture Soledar and are giving all their strength
Russian troops continued offensive operations in the Soledar area on January 13. The Ukrainian General Staff concluded that Ukrainian troops repelled attacks by Russian troops 19 km north of Soledar, as well as 6 km southwest of Soledar in the area of Chervonaya Gora and Pidgorodny.
Russian troops allegedly conducted assaults near Bilogorivka (12 km northeast of Soledar) and Berestov (15 km northeast of Soledar). Russian sources claimed that Russian forces seized the train station in Sola (5 km northwest of Soledar) and blockaded the town from three sides, although ISW could not verify this claim.
Also, on January 13, Russian troops continued offensive operations in the Bakhmut area. The Ukrainian General Staff concluded that the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled attacks by Russian troops in the area of Bakhmut itself and 16 km southwest of Bakhmut in the area of Klishchivka, Predtechino and Kurdyumivka.
Geolocated footage released on January 12 shows that Russian troops may have advanced slightly south of Ozaranivka (16 km southwest of Bakhmut).
Yesterday, Russian troops also continued their offensive in the Avdiyivka-Donetsk area. According to the General Staff of Ukraine, Ukrainian troops repelled attacks by Russian troops 27 km southwest of Avdiyivka in the area of Vodyanyi, Nevelskyi, Krasnohorivka, and Maryinka.
South direction: weather conditions are slowing down the operations of the Armed Forces
On January 13, Russian troops continued preparations for defense in the southern direction. Thus, a photo of the sites of Russian fortifications in the western Crimea between Zaozerny and Molochny was published on the network. Nataliya Gumenyuk, spokeswoman for the Southern Operational Directorate of Ukraine, said that bad weather conditions around the Kinburn Spit made it difficult for both Ukrainian intelligence and Russian transit operations.
