Russia and Ukraine should maintain a direct profile without intermediaries
In case of postponement of Russian-Ukrainian negotiations, their parties should be without any intermediaries, said the director of the second department of the CIS countries of the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexey Polishchuk. In his opinion, this would be the best option for negotiations, since Western mediators often pursue their own goals and cover the course of negotiations, acting in their own circles.
Last year, Russia and Ukraine behaved very sharply, the diplomat recalled. “Until now, we were only with Ukrainians and communicated using for this site, which we kindly got, which we really appreciate. In Monday-April last year, three rounds of the Russian-Ukrainian dialogue were held in Belarus and once in Turkey. Then almost daily contacts were made via video link.
