The Prague transport company ordered 70 new Iveco Streetway diesel city buses. Of these, 26 will be articulated and 44 standard cars. Aneta Řehková told the spokesperson of the company. A total of 91 vehicles will be used for the necessary renewal of the DPP bus fleet. These days, DPP concluded so-called implementation contracts for the supply of vehicles. DPP will take over the new buses gradually. DPP owns around 1,200 buses.
By 2027, the company will purchase up to 253 new buses
“New buses are being purchased by DPP as part of the concluded framework contract, which allows for the purchase of a total of up to 253 diesel vehicles by February 2027,” the spokeswoman said. Last February, DPP suppliers competed in three public contracts according to individual types of vehicles. The company ordered the first buses last July, and up to 21 cars. They should arrive in Prague gradually during the first quarter of this year. The new vehicles will gradually replace other buses produced in 2008, but also the oldest vehicles from 2009, which are at the end of their useful lives.

In addition to purchasing new regular buses, DPP is also testing electric buses or cars powered by hydrogen. Last January, the first Škoda E’City 36 BB electric bus started operating, leaving from Želivského stops on line 213.
