The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sanduwas the one that convened the meeting of the National Commission for European Integration (CNIE). In this sense, the members CNIE they were informed that, of the 35 actions that were supposed to be ready by the end of last year, only 16 have been completed and another 9 are about to be completed.

“Among the actions carried out is the adoption by the Parliament of the new Electoral Code, which entered into force on January 1st of this year. Likewise, the Government adopted the Regulation on low-value public ones. Among the actions that are in the finalization phase are: the extraordinary evaluation of the candidates for the Superior Council of Magistrates and the Superior Council of Prosecutors (pre-vetting).
Clarification of the competences of the Anti-corruption Prosecutor’s Office and the National Anti-corruption Center regarding the fight against grand corruption. It also aims to promote a package of normative acts to eliminate the influence of oligarchs from the political, economic and media spheres – this is one of the European recommendations from June 2022,” announced the representatives of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Moldova.
Maia Sandu assured that the procedures will end in March
At the meeting of the National Commission for European Integration (CNIE), the president of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, conveyed that the remaining actions must be completed by the end of March this year. The head of the neighboring state mentioned that it is necessary for all the responsible institutions to accelerate the efforts to realize the action plan.
“European integration is our country’s project which, once achieved, will ensure peace, the economic modernization of countries and the increase of people’s living standards. It is a project to which we can and must all contribute,” he previously mentioned Republic of MoldovaMaia Sandu.
Also, the members of the National Commission for European Integration (CNIE) decided to develop a plan to adjust the national legislation to the acquis communautaire. At the same time, new members of the Commission were also appointed during the meeting, including ministers, parliamentarians, representatives of legal bodies and civil societies.
