CUT: Olomouc – Comet 1:4. Boost for Brno, Šalé also scored
A nice boost for a struggling team. Hockey players from Brno Komet beat Olomouc 4:1 in the preliminary game of the 37th round of the Tipsport extra league and won after two losses in a row. Brno, which scored full points only for the second time in the last two months, can also thank two converted power plays for the win. The assist on the first goal was recorded by the young forward Eduard Šalé, who returned from the silver under-20 world championship. The Hanás, who lost the opportunity to quickly return to the elite four, scored their fifth defeat in the last six matches.
The first big chance of the match was created by the people of Brno during the power play, but Šalé’s attempt only hit the post and Kollár narrowly missed from the circle. Immediately after, Furch kept the puck in front of the goal line during a dangerous jam. I also made a good save in Olomouc’s Konec on Rašek’s shot from the ring.
The second period started as cautiously as the first part of the game ended. After five minutes, Musil appeared alone in front of Furch, but only hit the concrete of the Brno goalkeeper. Furch then also intervened against Navrátil’s shot and home Konrád covered Koblížko’s finish in short succession.
The important first goal of the match was scored by Kometa in a power play, when Kučeřík’s push in front of the goal was directed behind Konrád’s back by Flek. Olomouc could have equalized right away, but Kuska’s shot towards the open goal was stopped by one of the Kometa players.
The third period started with Olomouc’s power play, during which Furch hit twice against Navrátil. Immediately after returning from the penalty box, Pospíšil decided to take an inconspicuous shot and Konráda saved the goal structure for the second time. After that, the Olomouc goalkeeper kept his team on a separate escape from Koblížek, who headed only into the trap.
Nevertheless, Kometa took a two-goal lead when Holík succeeded in outnumbering two against one. Former Brno striker Plášek was able to reduce Olomouc right away with a precise shot into the top corner.
Then Kometa used the second power play in the match and again with a two-goal difference. Among the scorers was Zaťovič, who directed Kundrátek’s shot from the left into the net. Kollár then sealed Brno’s victory during the home team’s power play into an empty net.
