VfL Bochum: Good customer performance – draw against Zurich – concerns about Holtmann
VfL Bochum has completed its first test match in the Spain training camp. In the end it was 1:1 against Grasshoppers Zürich.
Thomas Letsch can probably be satisfied with the XXL test – twice 60 minutes. Because the VfL Bochum presents themselves very neatly against Grasshoppers Zurich.
Kevin Stöger (7th) put the Bundesliga side in the lead with a free kick worth seeing. Dominik Schmid (9th) could have the first chance to score for Zurich.
It should then remain 1-1 for the next 110 minutes. A fair result in a good friendly.
In this war of VfL even the better team. The Letsch team seemed more active and pushed up. In the second 60 minutes – Letsch made a complete substitution after an hour – Silvere Ganvoula, Simon Zoller and Pierre Kunde also had good chances to score. But they failed at the Grasshoppers goalkeeper.
Crack: 1: 0 Stöger (7th), 1: 1 Schmid (9th).
Kunde, Bochum’s latest signing – on loan from Olympiakos Piraeus – also knew how to please. The midfielder was able to draw attention to himself with two or three precise and dangerous long-range shots.
Jacek Goralski also came on in midfield after a long break. The Pole was allowed to play for half an hour between the 61st and 91st minute and move well in the center. He was then replaced by Dominique Heintz, who was allowed to run another 30 minutes. Tim Oermann came on in the last two minutes, Gerrit Holtmann had to be knocked out.
Gerrit Holtman: “I got stuck in the grass and something moved there, which wasn’t so good. I’m in a bit of pain.”
On Friday, VfL Bochum will continue with a double test before flying to Germany. At 11.30 a.m. the table leaders of the 2nd Hungarian league, DVTK, will be played. And then at 3 p.m. against FC Luzern, the league competitor of Grasshoppers Zurich from the 1st division in Switzerland.
