Kalin: Greece is violating our borders
A few hours after the new threats launched against Greece by Recep Tayyip Erdogan, his adviser Ibrahim Kalin accused our country of harassing Turkey and violating its borders.
“Last month I had a meeting with my Greek counterpart in Brussels and my German counterpart was at that meeting. We prefer to minimize these tensions and conflicts by proceeding within the framework of the decisions we made there and resolve the issues and reduce tensions through peace and negotiations. But when there is a violation of rights, border violation or harassment against Turkey, Turkey does not hesitate to respond to them,” Kalin claimed.
“Our president’s message to the Greek side, to Greek Prime Minister Mitsotakis, from the first moment was very clear and categorical. Until we solve our issues between ourselves. You must know, see and understand that your policy of putting pressure on Turkey by involving third parties in the process will not bring results,” the adviser to the Turkish president argued.
Diplomatic sources: We continue to protect our sovereignty
Greece promotes security and stability in the wider region, exercising a foreign policy based on the rules of International Law and the Law of the Sea, with full respect for the principles of the Charter of the United Nations Organization”, diplomatic sources note, commenting on the new wording attack launched by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan against our country.
“Greece has never tried, nor is it trying to impose a fait accompli”, the same sources emphasize and add:
“On the contrary, it condemns all forms of expansionism and revisionism and in the framework of good neighborly relations it resolves outstanding issues with its neighbors, such as with Italy and Egypt, through the unwavering application of the rules of International Law and the Law of the Sea.”
“We continue to protect our sovereignty and our sovereign rights,” they conclude.
