HAON – Hajdúdár in Debrecen instead of Lövész
The names of the units of the Hungarian Defense Forces have changed in accordance with the directive of the Minister of Defense, the website honvedelem.hu reported. They wrote: in the fast-changing, new world order, one of the most important guarantees of Hungary’s security is a modern, effective army, which is why it has been going on for years to acquire modern weapons systems, develop personal equipment that meets battlefield requirements, and introduce the recognition of salaries worthy of the military profession. They added: in addition to modernization and modernization, a priority task is also to create the warrior spirit of the soldiers, “which is enlivened by traditions written in blood“. – However, Hungary, the Hungarian Armed Forces, does not have a functioning, own historical general and team tradition system that serves as a solid moral value system for the soldiers – they noted.
They added: after 1945, Hungary “forced a very quick and drastic break” with the strong national traditions that existed until then, instead of the Hungarians, Soviet-Russian role models were placed in front of the soldiers, to whom it was impossible to be emotionally attached.
Even after the regime change, the armed forces did not regain their previous traditions, and the liquidations and reorganizations made it even more difficult to recreate and establish team traditions. The consequences of this historical past and processes that still affect us today are the lack of real, living historical team traditions, they wrote.
It was announced: the now-completed force development provides an excellent opportunity to recreate the internal tradition system of the Hungarian Armed Forces.
The ultimate goal is for the Hungarian Armed Forces to regain its status as a national institution that is generally respected by the public, which is the depository and guarantee of the preservation of Hungarianness, they wrote. They added: accordingly, the number of military formations and the choice of names will change. a previously incorrect practice will also cease and in the future the military number will be preceded by the name.
