If your Christmas tree is too big, cut it in two! – asks the Debrecen waste transport company
Debrecen – Debrecen Hulladék Közszolgáltató also asks the people of Debrecen to remove the trees from the decorations and put them out on the street.
According to tradition, the Christmas tree must be taken down on January 6, at the Epiphany, and the Debrecen Hulladék Közszolgáltató also adjusted the removal of the pine trees accordingly. They started collecting the trees on Friday, and they will compost them later. In areas with single-family houses, pine trees are collected by a municipal waste collection route, so they must be placed next to the bin on emptying days.
A separate collection route starts in residential areas. The service provider requests that the residents put out the pine trees in an easily accessible place near the route of the garbage trucks, preferably in one place.
DHK employees ask everyone to
rid the Christmas trees of decorations and candy wrappers. they also ask that anyone whose tree reaches two meters be cut in half, otherwise it won’t fit in the collection truck.
Usually 25-30 tons of pine are collected in Debrecen.
