Rosický: We are satisfied with how we have strengthened. There is a lot of competition in Sparta
With the addition of four players, Sparta fulfilled the plan of sports director Tomáš Rosický. The club’s protégé praises the fact that the team now has a lot of competition in all positions. At the same time, he is hindered by the fact that the Letenský brought only foreigners. The former representative thinks that the basis of the team must continue to be made up of Czech players.
“The coach and I are satisfied with how we strengthened it. The plan worked for us. My goal was for all the players we wanted to be here as soon as possible, that is, before leaving for the training session, which was accomplished. From this point of view, we can be satisfied. We created a lot of competition in the team in all ranks. It was another one of our goals.” said Rosicky at the press conference. The third team of the autumn part of the first league will travel to Marbella on Sunday for a training session.
The Praguers were strengthened by midfielders Kaan Kairinen and Qazim Laci, defender Dimitrije Kamenović and winger Awer Mabil. “At the moment, we have a coach (Brian Priske) who is open to the whole world. The direction and strategy do not change. Sparta must remain a Czech club and the foundation must be made up of Czech players. We want to have a Czech skeleton of the team, but in no case will we prevent players from abroad” “ stated the forty-two-year-old Rosický.
“We always first look at our ranks, who we have on loan, how it is developing. Then we look at the Czech market, it is important to be strong on the domestic market. Then there are the possibilities offered by the foreign market. If we agree and deem it suitable, that there is a good player in the Czech Republic who will improve us, we will look here as a priority,” said the former Dortmund and Arsenal player.
Priske is also satisfied with the arrival of new faces. “Players from abroad can always bring something different. But we will never change the club’s Czech culture. We will protect it. But we also need a perspective from abroad. Foreign players create competition. All four have experience in international football.” stated the forty-five-year-old Dane.
He believes that they will be an asset to the team. “Kamenović has been watched by the club for some time, he is very good on the left side of the defense. He developed in Lazio. He will probably need some time. I also know Mabila very well. He played in the World Cup, he is a team player offensively and defensively. Laci is a midfielder , who really likes the ball game. I also know Kaan a bit from Denmark. He has improved a lot in previous years. You can also play in multiple positions.” pointed out Příske.
