Hořava in Vyškov benefits from experience: Individual training offers greater progress
After a year and a half, he returns to professional football. Former national team midfielder Tomáš Hořava has expanded the implementation team of the second division Vyškov, he is in charge of individual training sessions. “I didn’t expect to return to professional football so quickly. But considering the scope of my work, it suits me,” said the 34-year-old Hořava.

The first contact from the club took place already in the winter part. “With Zbyňek Zbořil (sports director – editor’s note) I have known him for a long time, he asked me if I was interested in working together. We debated it several times and finally came to an agreement. I already attended several training sessions in the fall, but that was just a shock,” recalled the former league champion with Viktoria Plzeň.
In Vyškov, Hořava will be in charge of skills and individual training of the players. “The way it works is that I take a group of players and we focus on improving certain things that the players need. The main role is played by what position they definitely start at, and the work in individual groups also differs accordingly,” described Hořava.
Football Vyškov will be strengthened by ex-representative Tomáš Hořava. In the implementation team
According to him, this is a completely different way of training than in the company of all the lowers. “Each player has more for their progress. We can focus on the team’s space on the things on which so much attention is focused,” explained the new coach, who in the future will also devote himself to the mental coaching of Vyško players. “The mindset is very important in football, unfortunately it’s a bit neglected so far,” he added.
Will he also apply his experience from his studies at the Cyril Methodius Faculty of Theology of the Palacký University, where he studies the field of Religion with a focus on education? “Belief in God can help, sometimes we will see players cross themselves before entering the pitch, but he offers his view from his own experience. They promote a product that I recently wrote is linked to slightly personality skills. It touches on teamwork, setting, concentration and self-confidence, these things need to be constantly worked on,” added Hořava.
We will also win in the championship, says Hořava. How many more matches will he play in?
His role in the implementation team of the second unit of FORTUNA: NATIONAL LEAGUE is unique. “I don’t have to be in Vyškov every day, so far we are still working together. I also have my own activities, I train children in Olomouc and they play for the district championship for Radějov. Nothing changes about that,” he concluded.
