The doubts regarding the “business continuity” relating to the financial statements as at 30 September 2022 have been “overcome”. Bank Monte dei Paschi di Siena in a note sent to Consob and released on Monday morning January 2, 2023. A document which is the “disclosure” requested by Consob where the Sienese bank speaks of a positive “turn” in the “management”.
“Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena presents “the positive conclusion of the capital increase operation for 2.5 billion euro, which took place on 4 November last, and the implementation of important actions envisaged in the Business plan 2022-2026” (as evidently the exodus of over 4,000 employees which took place on 1 December 2022); elements that “lead us to believe” the significant doubts about the company’s continuity that had been declared in the reports prior to the interim report on September 30, 2022.

be and envisaged for the maintenance of the conditions of business continuity, Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (the “Bank”) refers to what was already reported in the press release dated 11 November last. In particular, it is reiterated that the positive conclusion of the capital increase operation for 2.5 billion euros, which took place on 4 November last, and the implementation of important actions envisaged in the 2022-2026 Business Plan, lead us to believe that the significant doubts about the going concern that had been declared in the reports preceding the interim management report as at 30 September 2022, marking a positive turning point in the Bank’s management”.
