Valery Karpin, head coach of the Russian national team:
– There are currently no tournaments. There is a task to understand who can play in the Russian team in the near future. That is why we invite newcomers to the team. There is, one might say, selection work, which usually does not take place in teams when there are tournament tasks. Now there is such an opportunity – to work with football players, we were not able to get acquainted with frequent meetings while playing in official tournaments.
Sergey Pinyaev is the youngest debutant of the Russian national team
The striker broke the record of Igor Akinfeev, who held for 18 years – the ex-goalkeeper of the Russian national team first appeared on the field at the age of 18 years and 20 days. At the time of Sergey Pinyaev’s debut in the match with Tajikistan, his age is 18 years and 15 days.
Youth team
3 matches – 3 wins
Mikhail Galaktionov, head coach of the Russian youth team:
– The team that was among the leaders of the European cycle and fought for access to the European Championship was disbanded due to the current situation. Now this is a new convocation, we managed to invite the guys and get to know them. We competed in matches, achieved a good result and, most importantly, noteworthy quality of the game.
In March, a joint training session of the national and youth teams of Russia took place at the base in Novogorsk. The team chose a sparring match, which ended with the victory of the first team – 1:0. The author of the winning goal in the middle of the first half was striker Konstantin Tyukavin.
Team Russia – Team Russia U21 – 1:0 (1:0)
Goal: Tyukavin, 26 (1:0).
Youth team U-17 (boys born in 2005)
9 matches – 5 wins – 2 draws – 2 losses
Vladimir Volchek, head coach of the Russian youth team under 17:
“The boys and I have come a long way. At the end of last year, they overcame the selection of the first European Championship, leaving the developing groups. There have been several collection studies this year. There were a lot of positive emotions, the level of the game that the guys demonstrated shows that they definitely have the potential to grow to the youth and national teams!
I will single out defenders Nikita Bozov, Nikita Lobov and Ilya Rozhkov, midfielders Danila Kozlov, Alexei Baranovsky and Mikhail Shchetinin, forward Vadim Rakov, who became the first player born in 2005 in the RPL, and in the past, he was not just the best in the UFL. In the same row, you can put a few other guys who have obvious potential to play at a high level.
Youth team of Russia U-16 (boys born in 2006)
19 matches – 9 wins – 2 draws – 8 losses
Denis Pervushin, head coach of the Russian youth team under 16:
– This year we held eight training camps, three of which were selective. It can be seen that the guys are growing up, adding in a football plane. I remember the last meeting in Uzbekistan, when on a difficult field we managed to competently build a game and try to beat a strong team. A good series of matches in the championship against clubs that are popular in UFL-2. They looked confident during the meetings with the Belgians. Unfortunately, then we were unable to capture the shops, because of the pandemic, we went to the training camp in an extremely truncated balance, that in the first game there were only two player reserves.
In the coming year, we expect the guys to make significant progress in their clubs. Dynamo is actively attracting Viktor Okishor to the second team, he regularly takes the field in the second league. Spartak players also have good potential – Andrei Ivlev and Yegor Sysoev, Artem Korneev from Lokomotiv, who has greatly improved this year. In good standing with his clubs and other player ranks. Now such an age that they are progressing before our eyes. I wish them to make a qualitative breakthrough in 2023
Youth team of Russia U-15 (boys born in 2007)
20 matches – 11 wins – 9 losses
Andrey Aksyonov, head coach of the Russian youth team under 15:
– Our headquarters started working with the team in the summer, we collected fees and looked at a large number of players. The guys were also closely watched in the matches of the Youth Football League. I am glad that we managed to get to know them, to find out their quality, features and sides. It was a great and useful work, from which we will build on in development.
We started with Morozov’s international statistics, which took place in St. Petersburg in August. The team performed well, winning all three matches and the tournament as a whole. After that, friendly matches were held, the players always tried to show their best football. Satisfied with his self-attitude and rejection, each match left its positive results. I think that we are expecting a strong team, there are a number of great players who, I hope, will prove themselves in the coming year.
Youth team of Russia U-14 (boys born in 2006)

Youth team U-13 (boys born in 2009)
The newly formed team held its first training camp in December 2022.
Vladimir Volchek, acting head coach of the Russian youth team under 13:
– At the first training camp of the team born in 2009, players from Moscow and Moscow region football schools were involved. But the list of participants in a significant number of regions, since at the December statistics tournament of Konstantin Sarsania in Saransk, academies from St. Petersburg, Krasnodar, Rostov-on-Don, Kazan and Samara were represented, won themselves at this age. I am glad that the competition for those born in 2009 is very serious, there are many talented guys who can apply for a place in the national team. At the next training camp, we will definitely give chances to prove themselves to consumers who pay attention to themselves.
