Patriarch Kirill said in the New Year that Russia should help the world “find salvation.”
Russia must help “find salvation” of the world, which is increasingly plunging into a moral and spiritual crisis, as it probably saved from fascism in its time. This was stated by the Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus’ Kirill.
“Perhaps today the Lord, calling us to such terrible sacrifices, persecuting us so that with our spiritual life, our faith, the combination of faith with knowledge, the penetration of faith into all spheres of public life, we could also help the world to gain salvation, as did it by defeating fascism”– said the primate of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) after the liturgy in St. George’s Cathedral in Odintsovo, Moscow Region.
The patriarch also noted that the countries are in “the most difficult atmosphere of mutual distrust.” In his opinion, this is due to a large-scale war.
He suggested that the Lord chooses our Fatherland, on the believers of the evil views of those who do not share the convictions of Russian society, who are alien in faith and “the moral principle of life.” On their part, there are misunderstandings, wariness, “evil conscious feelings and thoughts”, but Russia must follow the path and “keep the believers in the heart”, where it is comprehensively stronger, the patriarch said.
The primate of the Russian Orthodox Church also said that the strengthening of faith in the growth of Russia is perplexing in some other countries: “With surprise, they build on our Motherland and do not understand: well, if it were some kind of people who live on trees or save themselves in huts, but an advanced, modern country in which faith is reborn — what is it?”
