On the evening of December 27, the Georgian man was driving a van with a foreign license plate on the M1-M0 highway, transporting 35 people who were illegally staying in Hungary in its closed cargo area, said the prosecutor’s office.
Due to the police’s suspicions, they started to follow with several cars, using distinctive signs, however, the driver of the van – ignoring the calls – did not stop, and after turning off the highway at Budaörs was moving at high speed towards downtown Budapest.
According to the well-founded suspicion, the fleeing foreigner collided with several passenger cars in traffic, and on Attila út in the 1st district, he crossed into the opposite lane, forcing the oncoming police car to make a permanent swerve, and then

As a result of the collision, the right front wheel of the pickup truck driven by the perpetrator broke off, so the foreign man tried to run away from the scene, but the police caught up and arrested him.
The foreign man detained by the Budapest Police Headquarters was interrogated by the investigating prosecutor as a suspect due to the well-founded suspicion of a crime of violence against an official and the crime of endangering the road. In his testimony, the suspect denied the prosecution’s testimony.
