Bence Rétvári: In 2022, the security of Hungary was also the first priority
In 2022, Hungary’s security was also the first priority for the government, in the case of war, we are advocating for peace, and in the case of migration, the protection of Europe, the Parliamentary State Secretary of the Ministry of the Interior declared in a video statement on Monday.
Bence Rétvári uploaded on the government’s social media platform that he spoke: since 2015, the protection of Europe’s southern border section has been provided almost entirely from Hungarian sources, and the pressure on the southern border section is increasing every year.
While 46,000 people wanted to cross the border two years ago, 122,000 last year and more than 260,000 illegal border crossing attempts were prevented by Hungarian police, soldiers and border guards this year.
he explained.
Bence Rétvári emphasized: Brussels’ policy has not changed. New and new proposals that would encourage migration continue to come, he added.
However, the protection of Hungary is important to the government, as we can see that people smugglers are becoming more and more aggressive
he highlighted. He added that they often besiege the Hungarian southern border, armed with weapons and stabbing tools, which are heroically and highly defended by the Hungarian police and the Hungarian border guards.
The state secretary pointed out that one of the biggest beneficiaries of illegal migration is human traffickers. Today, every ninth prisoner in Hungarian prisons is a human trafficker, and it is clear how these criminal organizations benefit greatly from illegal migration, he indicated.
He said:
even during the sanctions crisis, the government ensures the protection of Hungary’s southern border and the protection of the country’s security with all resources.
“Fight for Hungary’s security every day, because Hungary’s security will be the most important thing” – said the state secretary.
