Security policy expert: Even Hungary cannot stay out of this war
According to Péter Tarjányi, “Hungary believed that otherwise there is a Western interest and supports it”.
In this year’s first broadcast of Frontline on Index, security policy expert Péter Tarjányi analyzed the current situation of the war, the issue of arms deliveries, Hungary’s attitude to the war, and the Ukrainian-Hungarian conflict.
The expert said in the program that Western support for Ukraine indirectly aims to prevent Russia from winning the war.
“The United States, the NATO alliances and the West obviously want Russia not to win this war, Ukraine to remain independent and Ukraine to fight for NATO” said Péter Tarjányi.
He also touched on the situation in Hungary
He said that it is not necessary to participate militarily in this war, but Hungary cannot stay out of this war either. The expert believes that by Hungary also voting for the sanctions packages of the past period, “Hungary believed that otherwise there is a Western interest and supports it”.
Who started the war, who will win, what should the West do? – György Nógrádi and Péter Tarjányi debated
ATV sat down György Nógrádi and Péter Tarjányi next to each other in the show Egyenes Beszéd. The two security policy experts see the issue of the war in Ukraine differently on several issues. This became clear in the first minutes, when Nógrádi recalled: it is not only Viktor Orbán who sees the West as having to realize: one year from the presidential election, Putin cannot lose the war, but the Brazilian president Lula and the German chancellor also made similar statements .
