Vienna Cammarota temporarily returns to Italy after walking 3500 km in 7 months. The exclusive interview on Radio Alfa
Vienna Cammarota, the environmental hiking guide and Archeoclub ambassador of Italy, has temporarily returned to Italy, who left Venice on 26 April to reach Beijing on foot, by 2026, and tell the story of the Silk Road in the contemporary era.
He has made it known that he has suspended the journey but will resume it at the end of March. In fact, he will have to complete the cycle of anti-rabies vaccinations as she was bitten by some stray dogs, then she will soon become a grandmother again.
Vienna had arrived in Tbilisi, Georgia, after crossing Slovenia, Serbia, Croatia, Bulgaria and Turkey on foot, a good 3500 km in 7 months. She was visiting an old cave city in Tbilisi and right there was a road that was a branch of the Silk Road and while she was walking, she was attacked and bitten by some stray dogs. Along the way she felt burning, blood flowed but she wanted to visit the rock city first. When she arrived at the hospital, she started making the vaccine which involves a cycle of 5 injections. In Tbilisi, he could not have crossed the border into Azerbaijan on foot but only by plane, as communicated to her by the Embassy of Azerbaijan. Furthermore, he could not have crossed even Iran and, in all likelihood, the borders should be reopened in March.
