Six to seven hours by bus. This is what awaits Stade Lavallois players for Christmas. The Tango will take the direction of Dijonafter a workout Sunday, December 25 from 9 a.m.
So no question of overindulging on New Year’s Eve Saturday.
“Obviously, we sent the message to the players to be serious. We can’t afford to have a banquet two days before the match.”
The players have all passed on the scale this saturday 24 december. However, this is not a specific measure since players are used to doing it once a week.
“They are professionals, I trust them. What is important is also that they enjoy their families. Mentally, I attach a lot of importance to it. It will be a somewhat special meal, they not to overdo it but to be able to share a moment with the family like everyone else. They know that tomorrow they have training and then the match the next day.”
“Something nice to experience”
To pay Jordan Adeotifather of three little girls, leaving on Christmas Day does not change much for him and his family compared to other games.
“I’m not sure they (his three daughters) are really performing. They’re never very happy that I’m away for two days, whether it’s Christmas or not. We’re going to adapt. We explain that it’s work and Dad has to leave. Us players aren’t going to celebrate like we usually do. We’re going to eat a little more properly, a little less fat… with little or no all champagne (smiles).”
Usually, the players are on vacation during the Christmas holidays but this season, the organization of the World Cup in November and December has shaken up the calendars. After Dijonthe Tango will also play again on Friday, December 30, against Amiensto Francis Le Basser (9 p.m.).
“I don’t find it difficult to play at this time. I think it’s good but I would have liked us to play a bit like in England. It’s a shame that the matches are at 9 p.m. It could have been nice parties for the families, to come at 3 p.m., eat a little after. Other than that, it’s something nice to experience for this time.”
Many absent before Dijon
A final training session tomorrow morning should allow Olivier Frapolli to form his group. In addition to the confirmed packages of Djibril Diaw, Steven Nsimba, Julien Maggiotti, François-Xavier Fumu Tamuzo and Yasser Balde, Kader Nchobi (flu-like symptoms), Dembo Sulla (sick) and Kevin Tapoko (birth of her child) were absent from training this Saturday.
After the Dijon match, the Tango will return in the night from Monday to Tuesday, again with six to seven hours by bus.
Dijon – Stade Lavallois: Monday December 26 at 9 p.m.
