Big growth, many stars and a trip to Zurich: That was the Uber year 2022
The corona pandemic and the new occasional traffic law have massively affected the entire taxi industry in the last 2 years. I am all the more pleased that we were able to record significant growth in all three cities in 2022 and that our users were satisfied.

- With an average rating of 4.9 stars, there were many satisfied Uber users this year
- With Uber Van, the perfect service for group trips, family reunions or bulk shopping starts at the end of the year
A successful year lies behind the mobility platform Uber in Austria. In all three active cities – Vienna, Salzburg and Graz – the number of users has increased significantly, business has increased in Salzburg and even quintupled in Graz.

Many stars for drivers and satisfied passengers
A purchased offer and the best quality are Uber’s top priorities. With an average rating of 4.9 out of 5 stars for drivers and users on the Uber platform, it shows that these goals could also be achieved in 2022. “The dialogue with our partners is very important to us and helps to quickly identify any problems and find solutions. From Vienna to Zurich: the longest journey was 813 kilometers
Even though most Austrians use Uber to get quickly from A to B within the country, there are occasional outliers: The longest Uber ride in Austria in 2022 went from Vienna Airport to the Botanical Gardens in Zurich – a distance of more than 800 kilometers. Whether the passenger missed his flight or got on the wrong plane is not reported. In any case, he arrived safely at his destination.
Many international users, the biggest Uber fan and new services in Vienna
In total, users from around 120 countries used the Uber app in Austria in 2022. The Uber app was adopted by tourists from the USA, Germany and the UK on . Incidentally, the country’s biggest Uber fan comes from Vienna: This year he made 867 trips – an average of 2.4 per day – with the Uber app.
New services have also started in Vienna: Since September, UberX Priority has been offering an even faster service, and since the beginning of December, you can order vehicles with even more space with Uber Van: With cars for up to six people, it is the ideal addition to the existing offer and is coming just right at the turn of the year for all people in a party mood or in the travel bug.
