Expert that Russia should not limit oil supplies to Japan
Head of Energy Direction of the Foundation “Institute energy and Finance” Aleksey Gromov believes that Russia will react to the introduction of a price ceiling on Russian oil.
Since December 5, the application has banned the supply of oil by sea. In addition, the state, which is part of the community, the price of Russian oil was maintained at $60 per barrel. This also unexpectedly happened in the US, UK, Japan, Canada, Australia.
According to Alexei Gromov, Japan remains a random one of the above, which receives Russian oil. At the same time, Tokyo achieved an exception for the supply of oil from the Sakhalin-2 project.
“Japan obediently re-signed all contracts with the new operator of the Sakhalin-2 project and among the participants of the Sakhalin-1 program. “In view of this, I do not see any serious reasons and I consider it wrong now for Moscow to discuss force and limit the supply for Tokyo,” Gromov was quoted by Ukraina.ru.
According to the expert, it would be irrational to lose Japanese buyers now. Moreover, the budget of the Sakhalin Region receives high funds from the export of oil and gas from the Sakhalin-1 and Sakhalin-2 projects.
Aleksey Gromov emphasized that Russia should not “clumsily and hastily” act against the West, so as not to harm itself and not play the game in the US and the application. The development of response measures must be approached carefully and thoughtfully, by a specially selected expert.
