A protest action was organized on Friday Mihály Vörösmarty High School teacher fired on Wednesday Erzsébet Törökné Pethő because of The protesting students gathered at Mikszáth Square around three in the afternoon and then marched to the Palace Quarter.
In the description of the event, the organizers asked the participants to bring a sound-making device, drum, clapper and show that they are not afraid.
The protesting students participating in the movement chanted the nickname of the dismissed teacher, but well-known rhymes of the past months were also heard, such as
“no money, no teacher” and “a strike is a fundamental right”.
According to HGV’s report, several residents of the area waved and applauded the hundreds of protesting students from their balconies to express their support.
At the end of the demonstration, the dismissed teacher thanked her students for standing by her.
In response to Wednesday’s dismissals, nearly 700 teachers from 71 schools went on strike, and new demonstrations were also organized: on Saturday, the Klebelsberg Center the protesters will march in front of it, and on Friday the students of the other two schools involved in the dismissal will also march they demonstrated.
