Actions were held in Vladivostok to resolve situations with overcrowded buses on Russian Island. According to the FEFU press service, university shuttles are connected to the monitoring of the city network and change the regulation of their movement. Such first steps were announced after the meeting of the working group from the university and the city administration, IA PrimaMedia reports.
“An initiative group of students from the FEFU Polytechnic Institute of Material Management and city employees analyzed the traffic congestion plying between the island of Russian Ikom. : students and teachers leave cities and infect municipal buses without waiting for FEFU shuttles, which, due to large traffic intervals, are at other points on the route at this time, ”FEFU said.
The schedule of FEFU city shuttles will be adjusted so that the buses arrive at the bus stop exactly at the end of classes. To do this, it is necessary to introduce another flight, which will pick up students and see them off after three hours. In addition, university shuttles are connected to the monitoring of the city network. Employees and children are brought up via GLONASS on the map of both aviation buses and at the shuttle university. This will likely reduce public transport costs and lead to lower passenger traffic.
If this is not enough, the parties will seek other necessary resources to increase the number of municipal buses on routes to the islands. Evaluate the effectiveness of the application of solutions will be collected on December 21.
Recall that the working group on transport communication was created after a meeting between the head of the city Konstantin Shestakov and the acting rector of the FEFU Boris Korobets. The community’s need for problems stems from the repeated handling of student complaints about overcrowded buses and shortages at peak times.
