Alexander Cox and Amsterdam separate
The board of AH&BC and Alexander Cox have agreed that the contract between the club and Cox has expired, which cannot be renewed at the end of this season. Cox took over as coach of Heren 1 six months ago and last season the team met the semi-finals of the national championship and the final round of the EHL.
Unfortunately, that doesn’t apply this season: the team is now in 8th place and has been eliminated from the EHL before. It is not the first season that the presumed top results of Amsterdam are not forthcoming. The board of AH&BC and the top hockey committee have therefore jointly determined the new course for the future of Heren 1.
In addition, the focus in the first two to three years is on building a strong team by investing in the development of young Dutch talents and in our own youth, but also in the culture. The objective is thus to lay the foundation for success at national and European level in the medium term. This course is discussed with the current players and the accompanying team of Heren 1. A new coach is broken down for the first season after Cox’s departure with the team following the new course that will continue.
