Loss from the last basket. Basket Brno opened the European competition with two defeats
Brno basketball players started their performance in the Northern European League ENBL with two close losses. The reigning bronze team of the competition lost in Szczecin, Poland, to the home team 78:87, and a day later to the Estonian team Tartu Ülikool 75:77. The people of Brno will get a chance to make amends on December 27 and 28, when they will host another ENBL tournament in their home hall in Vodová street.

Coach Lubomír Růžičky’s men could have been particularly sorry for the loss against Tarte, when they conceded the correct basket eight seconds before the end.
Without goals, beauty and Kundrátka. But Kometa got a relief win
After that, the captain of the Brno selection, Jakub Krakovič, made his mark, but he succeeded only after the time had expired. “The match was similar to the one against Szczecin, we entered it very well. We played very effectively and efficiently in the first quarter. It was clear that we were in good shape. Over time, the opponent hardened in defense and we ran out of energy. It was clear that the second game in two days, or the fourth in eight, had taken its toll on our tight rotation. From halftime on, it was a battle for every point, every rebound. In the end, the opponent was happier,” said coach Růžička.
His charge now awaits a return to the Czech league, in which he will present himself on the board of the second Kolín on Saturday from a quarter to six in the evening.
