Sollers launched the production of two new cars in Yelabuga
The automotive company Sollers has restarted production at the plant, which is located on the territory of the Alabuga Special Economic Zone in Tatarstan.
Thanks to this, the automaker was able to start mass production of two models of passenger cars (LCV) – “Atlant” and “Argo”.
“Atlant” – a car weighing from 2.5 to 4.2 tons, equipped with a diesel engine with a capacity of 139 or 150 liters. With. environmental class Euro-5. “Argo” is a compact machine weighing from 2.5 to 3.5 tons with a 130 hp diesel engine. With. or with a 147 hp petrol engine. With. class Euro-5.
Sollers has experienced the possibility of restarting production due to the possibility of acquiring the capacity of a joint venture with a likely Ford concern that has left Russia.
On the occasion of the launch of new models, the enterprise held a ceremony, as a result of which the participation of the Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov and head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.
“The collegial plans of major representatives of the market of this class of cars in Russia”, Manturov said in a welcoming speech.
Recall that at the end of October, Ford Motor Company completed its withdrawal from the joint venture with Sollers, having sold a 49% stake in it. Under the control of “Sollers Ford” there are factories in Vsevolozhsk near St. Petersburg and two factories in Tatarstan – one in Yelabuga and one in Naberezhnye Chelny.
