Europe is facing several challenges, but Hungary is not giving up
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, the vice-president of the Christian Democratic International (CDI), took part in the management meeting of the right-wing world organization in Panama City on Saturday, Bertalan Havasi, the prime minister’s press chief, informed MTI.
In his assessment of the European political situation, he said: the mainland faces several challenges at the same time, the war in Ukraine and the accompanying economic crisis, illegal and increasingly violent migration, and the spread of Western neo-Marxist ideology.
Speaking about the war, Viktor Orbán said: Europe has united goals, the most important thing is that Russia does not pose a threat to Europe’s security, and for this we need a sovereign Ukraine. However, opinions differ regarding the instruments, especially the sanctions – he explained, adding: these debates will remain with us.
In relation to economic issues, the Prime Minister highlighted: the short-term objective is to avoid recession. According to him, the economies of Central Europe will succeed, which is why the increased energy prices due to the war and Brussels sanctions make this very difficult.
Viktor Orbán concluded his speech by saying: in times of crisis, action must be taken to alleviate the problem; Hungary will certainly not give up.
