Hellstrøm’s Christmas: Well, Hellstrøm has to cook Christmas food
All of Norway’s master chef, Eyvind Hellstrøm (73), is on the hunt for the very best Christmas food. In the new program Hellstrøm’s Christmas, the chef will bring with him influencers and author Linnéa Myhre (32) and comedian Henrik Fladseth (33).
Now he sets off on a journey with them to find new inspiration for classic Christmas dishes.
Hellstrøm has been seen in many arenas associated with food and traditions – but new this time is that he invites people home to his own kitchen, where new food dishes will be on the table.
First stop
Henrik Fladseth is a new family man and aims to take over the Christmas dinner. Then he must learn how to make the most exceptional ribba.
Fladseth and Hellstrøm therefore take the trip to the place where warm liver pâté, baking, beer and aquavit take center stage – namely Copenhagen.
– Fantastic and educational trip! And very nice to get to know Eyvind. But if there is one thing he really needs to clean up, it is his own Danish. Unfortunately, I’m not much better. Regardless, it will make good TV, says the comedian.
– Exotic and scaly
Furthermore, Hellstrøm takes the trip to one of his favorite cities – Paris.
Here he will be together with Linnéa Myhre, who, like many Norwegians, has a strained relationship with Christmas food.
Together, the two fit like a glove, as they both prefer neither ribs nor pork chops on Christmas Eve.
– It was so much fun to be with Eyvind on an inspiration trip. It was both exotic and defining, where I ended up running after Eyvind to keep up with everything he had to show me, says Myhre.
In France, they will get a taste of alternative dishes for Christmas. They also have to drink champagne and Christmas soda.
Hellstrøm without Truls?
Through several programs and seasons, we have put Hellstrøm as chefs, and over the last few years he has had a fast following with the comedian Truls Svendsen (50).
This time, Svendsen will not be seen in the team with the master chef.
– This is a brand new series in which Hellstrøm focuses on Norwegian food traditions and the hunt for new inspiration for dishes associated with various holidays, says Kathrine Haldorsen, program editor at TV 2.
And for everyone who wants to miss the northerner in Hellstrøm’s new Christmas programme, Haldorsen can reveal that the duo might be seen on the screen in the future regardless.
– We do not rule out that there may be more seasons where Truls and Eivind are together again.
Hellstrøm’s Christmas – Henrik Fladseth in Copenhagen will be shown on 21 December at 20:00 on TV 2 Direkte and TV 2 Play and Hellstrøm’s Christmas – Linnéa Myhre in France will be shown on 22 December at 20:00 on TV 2 Direkte and TV 2 Play.
