The Nordics’ largest electric car fair, eCarExpo, is coming to Norway
Norway may be a pioneering country when it comes to electric cars, but one of the biggest fairs in the Nordics – eCarExpo – has so far been held in Sweden. This year’s fair starts in Stockholm this weekend, but next year it will also come to Norway and Oslo.
– Norway is one of the world’s most mature electric car markets, and is thus a very natural next stop for the fair, says Gunnar Dackevall, general manager of the organizer eLife Nordic.
The Nordics’ largest new car fair
Since its establishment in 2016, eCarExpo has gone from being a niche fair for a narrow segment to becoming the largest new car fair in the Nordics. It has been organized in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Copenhagen, and in 2024 it will be extended to Norway and Finland.
– In Norway, 80 percent of new car sales are electric cars, but a total of five out of six cars in traffic are still fossil fuel cars. In other words, there is great potential in the market, and we see a great need for an arena where potential buyers can get an insight into the wide selection of electric cars in one place, says Dackevall.
eCarExpo Oslo will be organized in NOVA Spektrum in Lillestrøm, 9 to 11 February 2024, one week after the fair is held in Stockholm at the Friends Arena. The organizers promise both Norway’s largest exhibition of electric cars, a number of new car launches and the opportunity to test drive your next electric car.
– By having the fairs so close to each other, the international exhibitors can move straight on from one fair to the other. It saves them both time and money. This in turn also makes it more interesting for them to participate both with launches and concept cars, of which there are traditionally only a few at other trade fairs, concludes Dackevall.
Dackevall also promises that, similar to previous fairs, you will experience completely unique speakers when the fair comes to Norway. For example, Henrik Fisker is a draw during this year’s fair in Stockholm.
