They rewrote club history. SKKP Brno judokas are champions of the extra league for the first time
A historical milestone. SKKP Brno judokas won the men’s extra league for the first time in the club’s history. In the weekend play-off in the Folimanka hall in Prague, they first beat home USK 3:2 on matches and 21:20 on points, and in the final they defeated Liberec 4:1 on matches and 13:10 on points.

“It is a historic achievement. In addition, we were represented by four foster children in five weight categories,” said club manager Jaroslav Švec.
First, the Brno team managed a balanced battle with USK Praha. “Jiří Petr’s win over the Georgian Giorgi Gvelesiani was very important,” noted Švec.

In the final against Liberec, Ivan, the elder of the Petrů sibling duo, shone again. “He defeated Adam Kopecky, who is a medalist from the Junior World and European Championships. After fourteen years, he deposed Lukáš Krpálek from the throne of the best Czech judoka,” noted the club manager.
Tomáš Waldsberger, Petr Mladý and Marius Fízeľ also defended the Brno colors at the weekend.
In recent seasons, SKKP Brno has been among the top domestic teams, but it lacked an overall triumph. “We went up a lot, we had medals, we were in third place, we reached the top now,” said Švec.
