“The military operation in Syria is a message to Greece”
By order of the Turkish President, Retgby TaYup Erdoganstarted the “Gampso Xifos” operation in northern Iraq and Syria – in retaliation for the terrorist act in Istanbul last Sunday – which resulted in the tragic death of at least 31 people, mostly Kurdish fighters and Syrian soldiers.
According to the Turkish Ministry of Defense, 89 targets were destroyed, including ammunition.
In particular, the areas of Qandil, Asos and Hakurk in Iraq were affected, as well as Kobani, Tal Rifat, Chizire and Derik in Northern Syria.
The Turkish Ministry of Defense noted that “the self-proclaimed leaders of the terrorist organization (including the Kurdish fighters) are among the neutralized targets.”

The airstrikes were against positions of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and the People’s Protection Units (YPG), a Kurdish paramilitary group operating in Syria that Ankara says is linked to the PKK.
The airstrike comes in retaliation for last Sunday’s explosion in Istanbul, which Ankara has openly blamed on the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), although both it and the Syrian Democratic Forces have denied any responsibility.

“The military operation in Syria sends a message to Greece”
A few hours after the operation, warmongering analysts and media in Turkey were quick to note that this operation sends a message to Greece as well.
“The air operation is also a message to Greece: It’s not an exercise, it’s a fact,” says the pro-government newspaper Milliyetciting terrorism and security expert Abdullah Agar.
According to him “it is an extremely important message to countries like Greece, which have adopted a hostile attitude towards Turkey”.
Accordingly, the representative of the ruling AKP party, Omer Celik, seems to be leaving spikes in his post on Twitter.
“The phrase ‘one night we may come suddenly’ is our president’s expression of determination. This large-scale and highly skilled operation shows to the whole world that the Turkish armed forces will respond to those who target our country under any circumstances.”
President of the Republic of Turkey “bir gece ansızın gelamizın” sözü kesin sışlılığımızın ıyşeşdir.
This large-scale and highly-capable action shows the whole world that the Turkish Armed Forces will respond to any situation and condition in the eyes of our country.#PenceKılıc
