The monument duo at Riecherstraße 22, consisting of a residential building and an attached barn, is also located in this area. Both have been under monument protection for centuries – albeit with different justifications.

Residential house was built in 1911
According to the preservationists, the residential building is a “two-story brick building in baroque forms under a mansard roof”. The house was probably built around 1911. The brick building is listed as a monument because of its “historical importance due to the testimony and display value for building and art history”.

The year of construction of the barn is clearly visible on the facade – there the number “1911” is emblazoned next to a white horse on a red background, the coat of arms of Lower Saxony. For the State Office for the Preservation of Monuments, the barn, which was converted for residential purposes, is under monument protection due to its “urban significance of formative influence as an element of the spatial structure of a castle/estate/courtyard/garden complex”.
