For citizens of Russia going on vacation from countries, it is necessary to use a special resort fee. This proposal was made by the State Duma deputy on the Communist Party Oleg Smolin. The parliamentarian is confident that such a measure will attract more Russians to domestic resorts.

The initiative to raise funds from Russian tourists who decided to relax abroad was proposed by Oleg Smolin during a discussion on the extension of fundraising in Russia in four regions of the Russian Federation until 2027. The deputy believes that with the introduction of such a reception of Russians, the flow to domestic resorts would increase.

“We need to encourage people to have a rest in their own country, and we inform those who have a rest in their own country. Let’s collect the resort fee from those who go to rest in foreign countries. Why were tours cheaper in Turkey than in Russia? Taxation has been reduced as much as possible, ”communist deputies said.

In his opinion, Russians traveling abroad on vacation have enough income to buy such vouchers, which means that if they start the resort fee, then “they won’t feel it,” the Moskva agency reports.

An experiment on the collection of resort fees from tourists in the Crimea, Altai, Krasnodar and Stavropol Territories took place in 2017. It must be carried by adult tourists who stay in hotels in the region for more than 24 hours. The size of the fee in the economy of subjects participating in the experiment. For example, in Sochi the resort fee is 50 rubles per day, and in other resort areas of the Krasnodar Territory – 30 rubles.

In July, State Duma deputies began introducing a research fee with tourists across the country. At that time, 18 regions became interested in the bill. The document includes a dedicated fee of 100 rubles in case of a stay of more than one day. Tour operators emphasize that the coverage of the measure as a whole does not repel tourists from the routes, but greatly affects the image of hotels.

“The registration of the resort fee delays the process of settling, this is transfer to the queues at peak sensors, the resources have a feeling of infection,” Sergey Romashkin, general director of the Dolphin tour operator.
