Pirates and Prague TOGETHER sent the coalition an offer for the establishment of a municipal coalition. It’s a compromise, he says
The Prague Pirates and Praha Sobě, as the Alliance of Stability, sent the SPOLU coalition (ODS, TOP 09 and KDU-ČSL) an offer for the formation of a coalition at the Prague municipality. TOGETHER, it would have five councilors including the mayor, the Alliance of Stability would have five and STAN would have one. Martina Vacková and Cecílie Antůšková told ČTK on behalf of the alliance. Post-election negotiations began right after the elections at the end of September, but so far without a result. The constitutive meeting of representatives took place last week, but it was interrupted until November 24 precisely because of the lack of a coalition. TOGETHER won the election in the metropolis ahead of ANO in second and Pirates in third.
“We believe that this situation is not pleasant for any of the parties involved, and we all recognize the need to act in the interest of the residents of our city. We appreciate that at the constituent meeting of the capital city council there was an agreement to suspend it until November 24. For this reason, today we proactively offered another compromise option for filling the new councils of the capital,” said Daniel Mazur, the chairman of the representatives for the Pirates.

Coalition negotiations began in Prague immediately after the elections on Sunday, September 25, when Pirates, Praha Sobě and STAN met in the afternoon and TOGETHER with STAN in the evening. Since then, it has happened that the Pirates have TOGETHER, which also dealt with ANO. Pirates and STAN again asked to bring Prague to the negotiations, which TOGETHER refuses. The Pirates and Praha Sobě subsequently founded the aforementioned alliance.
In the metropolis, the outgoing coalition council composed of the Pirates, Prague Sobě and the United Forces for Prague (TOP 09, STAN and KDU-ČSL) still rules. At their first meeting last week, the representatives elected members of three committees, namely control, finance and education, which is imposed on them by law. The meeting was adjourned until November 24, when a new Prague leadership should be elected in the event of a coalition.
The SPOLU coalition won the municipal elections in Prague this year, winning 19 seats in the council. ANO ended second with 14 mandates. The third Pirates have 13 representatives. Čtvrtá Praha Sobě has 11 mandates, five representatives have STAN in fifth place. Sixth is the SPD with three mandates.
