Everything will be fine, Russia is not going to attack Moldova – US Ambassador
The United States is closely monitoring possible developments in the field of infection, in connection with which they can state: there is currently no Russian side in case of arrival in Moldova. This was stated on Pro TV by the US Ambassador to Chisinau, Kent D. Logsdon.
When asked about the development of whether the Western partners could help in case of emergency, the diplomat evasively replied that they already contribute to the feeling of the Moldovan army, causing the need for equipment. According to Logsdon, America’s governments and alliances had been reporting back in January that Russia might start civilian activities in Ukraine. Therefore, their assessment of the situation is objective and corresponds to the state of affairs.
“I have said before and I repeat now that we do not see a single sign that Russia is going to attack Moldova. And this is good”, Log saiddon.
He added that in Washington, it is likely that the support of partners is important for Chisinau in the event of an attack on the republic, so they are checking assistance in reforming the Moldovan army. He confirmed that for many years the United States has supported Moldova in the industrial sector, providing equipment and assistance to military instructors. In this regard, the ambassador specified that they are ready to prepare requests from the Moldovan authorities for French equipment, but so far there have been no such congresses.
“The United States, the EU and other partners – we have all increased assistance to Moldova, especially in the military sphere. And we know that this is very important for Moldova now,” – Relapse Kent D. Logsdon.
