Music circulates in her body instead of blood. On Tuesday, Zaz tried to pass on the hormone of happiness to domestic fans at a sold-out concert in Prague’s O2 universum. And she mostly succeeded during the nearly two-hour show.

The French singer Zaz, with her typically veiled voice, brought her current record Isa to Prague this time, which she composed during the covid lockdowns. It was the new song Les jours heureux that opened the whole evening. And when the fans were excitedly looking at the stage and waiting for the singer Zaz, the main star of the evening appeared in a very unusual way right between them on the dance floor.
“Shall we sing?” This question, which Zaz said in broken Czech and received huge applause, was followed by hits such as Imagine or Si jamais j’oublie. This Prague concert also included the recitation of a Czech poem.
Chanson’s pop
Zaz has energy to give away. After all, this is also proven by her dance creations, which many colleagues from the music industry could learn from her. But she suffers from impatience here and there, so she once ran a few notes ahead of the keyboard player. But she made up for it with her big smile for the fans.

The current tour, called the Organique Tour, also includes well-known songs that made the French singer famous more than ten years ago.
Zaz is one of the few who can combine chansons with pop. He mixes in gypsy jazz and spices it up with Latin. Natural ferocity then took her to concert halls all over the world.
At a big performance for thousands of people, he can create an almost intimate atmosphere, and the fan at that moment has the feeling that he is singing just for him.
The band’s coordination with the lighting is definitely worth mentioning, every note had a clearly defined light reflection. The entire concert was accompanied by a lighted candle in a lantern.
For the second time this year
It is not for nothing that Zaz is nicknamed the modern-day Edith Piaf. Perhaps it was this great chanson name that helped her to exchange street singing for a few passers-by for full-fledged concerts. The well-known composition La Vie en rose was also included as an encore on that Tuesday.
The Czech audience liked Zaz and the Czech audience liked her. In 2012, when she performed at the Colors of Ostrava festival, according to fans, she even surpassed the headliner of the entire year – the Canadian singer Alanis Morissette.
Zaz returned to the Czech Republic for the second time this year. In July, she unexpectedly sang during the final concert of the Smetanova Litomyšl festival. Her short performance with the symphony orchestra was perfectly concealed by the organizers.
