The organization Another Jewish Voice calls on Twitter to protest at the entrance of the building where the lecture is held on Thursday. The lecture is about the theme of “Population”, which, according to Another Jewish Voice, is “a Nazi theory that fuels xenophobia”.
For the time being, the University of Antwerp sees no problem with the freedom of expression of the foundation of democracy. “This freedom has limitations in criminal law, but limitation censorship is not possible”, Peter De university.
“Students (the right-wing student club NSV, ed.) can organize a lecture, as long as there is also a contradictory debate,” says De Meyer. Finally, the university calls on people to ask the critical questions.
In addition, some students and the social movement Kif Kif oppose the lecture. They state that the university “does not modify or legitimize the dissemination of racist ideas.” According to Kif Kif, freedom of expression applies within the broader framework of the anti-racism law.
A few days ago, a lecture by Dewinter also clashed with resistance in Kessel-Lo.
