Prague 8 organizes the Day of Health and Social Services. Already on Tuesday

On Tuesday, October 4, 2022, the Town Hall of the Municipal District of Prague 8 is organizing a parade of organizations providing a wide range of social services in front of KD Kraków in Bohnice. The event will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. It will also include the offer of preventive examinations in medical tents.
The district on its own websites announces as part of the accompanying program the offer of the Center for the Study of Longevity and Long-Term Care, whose projects aim to improve the quality of life in late life. The first one focuses on the usefulness of social activities taking place outdoors and in nature can alleviate the feeling of loneliness, and the second project dealing with the issue of physical activities will show visitors during joint exercise how little is enough to ensure its daily functionality.
Another company that presented itself during the event is the Palata Syndrome Home for the Visually Impaired, based on speech therapy for people with dementia and after a stroke. The Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing for Prague and the Central Bohemian Region will introduce younger visitors to how to communicate with hearing impaired people so that they are not excluded from social life.
Part of the accompanying program will also include a lecture to introduce preventive burn goals for young children in households, which will be provided by the Burn fighters company. Her other featured project is Wagoners, which focused on teenagers and dangerous accidents on train and subway cars.

At the event, dermatoscope examinations will be available to visitors as a prevention against melanoma following the summer period, when people exposed their skin to the sun’s rays by massaging them. Furthermore, professional rescuers will train here on how to provide first aid, and the menu will also include a tour of the ambulance.
Health professionals will also offer interested parties a lot of information regarding dental hygiene, prevention of sexually transmitted diseases, or prevention of alcohol and tobacco use, and will demonstrate instructions on breast and testicle self-examination. An ambulance will be on hand at the event to provide anonymous and free HIV testing with results on the spot.
