Sugar Mizzy October 3, 2022

The Red Dot award-winning exhibition organized by the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency (MDDÜ) can be visited free of charge from October 3-9. exhibits the pieces of 31 domestic and more than 10 regional designers. This year’s event, which focuses on storytelling, education and digitization and has won numerous international awards, including the Red Dot Award, welcomes design with keynote presentations by world-renowned designers, round table discussions and, as in previous years, the “Meet the Designer” program . interested parties in the Bálna Budapest building.

The design pieces presenting domestic and regional designers to 360 Design Budapest will also emphasize the pursuit of sustainable design in 2022. At the heart of the concept is the interweaving and connection of digital past and future, and physical space. In addition to the creations of Hungarian designers and up-and-coming talents, 3D designs could therefore be named in a separate category by the dreamers of innovative products.

Unusually, the form-breaking creations can only be used in digital form, on LED projectors.

Visitors to the exhibition can enter the physical exhibition space from this special virtual space. Visitors can learn more about the connection between storytelling and time planes in the design history section.

“We thought it was particularly important to draw attention, together with the prominent organizations of the individual fields, to the ever-changing intertwining of the various arts. 360 Design Budapest was therefore created this year in close cooperation with Art Market Budapest, the main element of which partnership is the Inside Art & Design program, please lectures and round-table discussions by world-renowned designers will be held. The purpose of the exhibition’s concept is to show that important opportunities are being used by experiences from industrial art heritage, collaboration and technology, and that they are enriching the world of design with more and more new ideas,” explains the concept. Anita Forintos-Szűcs, deputy general manager of the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency, explained the underlying thought process at the opening of the exhibition.

In addition to the regional professional organizations – such as the LuCreate Design Development Foundation, Czechdesign, Budapest Design Week, Art Market Budapest, the Museum of Applied Arts – internationally acclaimed star designers will visit the exhibition as keynote speakers, such as Piero Lissoni, one of the most prominent architects and designers of our time, and Draga Obradovic and Aurel K. Basedow, the leading design couple of the Italian furniture manufacturer Baxter.

Based on the decision of the professional jury, the 31 design brands included in the exhibition – 14 of which also participated in the Agency’s design LAB mentoring program – will present their pieces in the framework of an exclusive guided tour through their own perspective. Editor-in-Chief of Decoration and Iván Vitáris, frontman of the band Ivan & the Parazol.

Those interested can take part in additional guided tours accompanied by Gáspár Bonta, program director of 360 Design Budapest, who will be joined by Piero Lissoni on the Thursday of the event.

The range of programs is also supplemented by HFDA Academy round table discussions. Their aim is to stimulate professional dialogue and knowledge sharing for creative actors, providing a platform for those interested in the sector to deepen their knowledge of current sector issues.

In the discussion “Collaboration as the driving force of innovation”, producer-designer couples who received support in the framework of the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency’s design LAB incubation program share their experiences gained during joint work, taking into account the role of design-conscious enterprises and the use of innovative tools.

In the context of Metszéspontok: Art & Design, an English-language conversation with international participation, the participants explore the differences, overlaps and intertwinings of the fields of art and design.

In cooperation with Art Market, a selection of photos has been prepared for the occasion of Art Photo Budapest 2022, some of which are featured in the images of the leading Hungarian photographers, whose oeuvre shows the transition or rather the intertwining between fashion photography and photographic art.

“The international collaborations and the dialogue and sharing of knowledge between the actors involved from different sectors serve the event’s long-term goals, which include strengthening Hungary’s role as a regional design center, promoting the entry of domestic design brands into the international market, and increasing the visibility of Hungarian and regional designers. , Our built heritage, our natural wonders and our gastronomy contribute to the formation of the country’s image. Cultural interest is an increasingly strong motivation to travel, but it also helps the tourists coming to our country to extend their stay and gain quality experiences. Since the establishment of the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency in 2018, supports Hungarian representatives of fashion and design in achieving international success and wider recognition. It gives us great pleasure that 360 Design Budapest has gained a high degree of recognition not only by visitors, but also by the profession in just three years since its inception under,” added Zsófia Jakab, CEO of the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency.

In addition to winning the Red Dot award, 360 Design Budapest has achieved outstanding positions in numerous international design competitions in previous years; in the A’ Design Award & Competition, it reached the podium in two categories, and at the 11th Global Eventex Awards, nearly 600 entries received gold in the Virtual Expo category and bronze in the Art Event category.
