Prague, Ostrava and the Moravian-Silesian Region present themselves to investors at the EXPO REAL trade fair in Munich — Ostrava
“We are following up on the joint presentation of the cities and the region, which we have tried in the past. Ostrava once again organized the joint exhibition. I am sure that this time too I will bring the same effect to the stand and potential business partners from abroad and those interested in investing in the Czech Republic will have the opportunity to obtain comprehensive information. It is a unique platform for the presentation of projects and investment opportunities of local governments and private entities and an exceptional opportunity to establish or necessary business ties,” stated the mayor of the statutory city of Ostrava, Tomáš Macura.
In recent years, Ostrava has undergone fundamental changes in the way it thinks about its development. Its territory is very vast from an urban planning point of view, therefore the main priority of the city is to stop brownfields and open spaces, especially in the city center. An example of this being successful is the newly emerging district in the vicinity of the reconstructed building of the historic city slaughterhouse at the contemporary art gallery, the construction of the Nové Lauby housing complex or the new university campus by the Ostravice river in the city center. Ostrava is ready for the arrival of investors not only from the areas offered, the friendliness of the environment and the maximum willingness to cooperate, but also from the point of view of the functionality of the spatial plan, which is in very good condition compared to other Czech cities.
At this year’s EXPO REAL fair, Ostrava offers areas for housing, administration and services on Českobratrská, Masná, Polská, Opavská and Plzeňská streets. For those interested in industrial real estate, it has plots of land in the Mošnov Strategic Industrial Zone. Conditions for development in partial areas are always defined with regard to local specifics. The city expects investors to build buildings that will be urbanistically valuable and functional with respect to the existing surrounding development.
“Previously, the Moravian-Silesian Region was perceived as a purely industrial region. However, this is also changing due to the end of black coal mining, and our region is now undergoing a fundamental transformation. By supporting innovative visions, state-of-the-art technologies and daring, we become an important technology player. And this is exactly how we want to present our region at the EXPO REAL fair. One of the goals is to present the Moravian-Silesian Region as a place that at the moment is facing our great favorite and how to most effectively use the transformation money from the European Fund for a Just Transformation. The region is prepared to use these funds to support the preparation of development projects, thereby giving the necessary potential partners and investors the opportunity to participate in the development of our region. At the fair, we are going to find a number of interesting locations and projects in attractive residential, commercial or production areas, and thus present not only visionary, but also standard investor projects.” governor of the Moravian-Silesian Region, Ivo Vondrák, and added that the region presented, for example, development opportunities in the Pohornice region or development projects across the entire region at the fair.
The area with an area of 60 km² between the towns of Karviná, Havířov and Orlová is called the mountain area. It is being addressed by the transformation program POHO 2030, whose vision is to bring the landscape, which previously belonged to coal mining, back to life and open it up to people. Thanks to its key projects, POHO 2030 wants to attract investors to the area and thereby obtain the necessary capital for comprehensive development, including smart solutions and new energy. The region will present these projects at the fair, for example Circular Park Lazy, Industrial Park Jan Karel, strategic project POHO Park Gabriela or EDEN Silesia.
The EXPO REAL fair, which is focused on the real estate market, investment opportunities, development projects – residential and commercial, architectural trends and development in the field of real estate, stands out with the participation of developers and investors, development agencies, end users, expert consultants, architects, representatives of local governments and of states.
“We will present visitors to the prestigious real estate fair Expo Real with the largest urban development projects that Prague is preparing. It is primarily about the creation of three new neighborhoods that will grow under the city’s guidance in Palmovce, in Nové Dvory and in Dolní Počernice. These are complex urban planning units that include affordable rental housing, administrative and retail spaces and full civic amenities in the form of a school, schools, sports and cultural facilities. The result of the work of the project team of the Vltava Philharmonic Orchestra will also be on display at the Prague stand. We are very pleased that this team will grow within the PDS from autumn “ Petr Urbánek, director of the Prague Development Company, contribution organization (PDS).
The program of the fair includes more than 140 conferences and panel discussions, where more than 300 experts from the field will speak. One of the main interests of the fair is to present the real estate industry with innovative solutions and opportunities that can help solve the growing demands on this industry. The fair will feature start-ups as well as former start-ups that are now established by technology companies.
