MOLDPRES News Agency – The Republic of Moldova will sign an agreement with the International Committee of the Red Cross
Chisinau, 30 Sep. /MOLDPRES/. The decree of the head of state, Maia Sandu, regarding the initiation of negotiations on the draft Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the International Committee of the Red Cross /ICRC/ on the status, privileges and immunities of the International Committee of the Red Cross in the Republic of Moldova was published today in the Official Gazette and entered force, informs MOLDPRES.
The purpose of the agreement is to establish the legal framework that will allow the ICRC to benefit from the same conditions as any other international organization based in our country.
According to the document, representatives of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, as well as other institutions, will be involved in the negotiation process.
Humanitarian assistance granted by the International Committee of the Red Cross of the Republic of Moldova consists of crisis management support projects, including the one related to the large flow of refugees from Ukraine, psychological support programs for refugee children, refugee inclusion projects.
