Third home game, third win! The Spartans followed up on Sunday’s duel against Pilsen, when they defeated the leader from Vítkovice 5:3 thanks to an effective first half of the match. The winning goal was scored by Dominik Graňák, the first Spartan hit, to which the visitors responded with two more goals, but they could not catch up.
Although Michal Řepík’s initial shooting attempt went wide, after 70 seconds of the game our team flew into the area where the shot was taken David Porridge! The successful entry of the Spartans continued, but significant chances did not come and Jakub Kovář also had to intervene on the other side. In the following minutes, both tried to succeed with thrown discs, but in vain.
In the middle of the third, David Tomášek flew brilliantly into the zone, after which his great action came to an end Ostap Safin. Immediately after, Jakub Kovář brilliantly intercepted the escape of two opponents, after which he also dealt with Fridrich’s shot from the circle. Vítkovice returned to the game with a power play Peter Krieger after a shot by Juraj Mikuš.
Immediately, Ostap Safin and Milan Jurčina went for the third goal, but they were caught by the visitors’ goalkeeper. At the end of the third, however, it was short when the Ostravas played poorly. Michal Řepík was not punished for the hesitation at first, but the substitute Roman Horák was already heading for the black!
At the beginning of the middle act, our team got a power play, but against the exemplary defense of Vítkovice, it had no significant chances. When both sides were eliminated after four minutes, the game in four went better for the Spartans, as Vladimír Sobotka presented the puck Dominic Graňák and his fierce strike was Sparta’s premiership goal.
The stiff fight continued, with Adam Polášek at fault. After only eight seconds, he took the attempt Roberts Bukarts, which only had to be confirmed by video at the instigation of the Vítkovice coaches. Both sides started to get physical, but the penalties did not increase and both goalkeepers looked confident.
Dominik Simon was very close to the goal, for example, whose promising shot flew just wide of the goal. Lukáš Klimeš covered Jakub Krejčík’s thrown puck for a change. However, at the end of the third period, Vítkovic was awarded a throw-in, after which he took the free puck Roberts Bukarts and with a great shot under the top bar to reduce the difference to only one hit.
The Ostravas entered the third period active, but, like the Spartans, encountered a solid defensive position during their raids. Dej’s sharp shot towards the goal ended up on the rebound of Jakub Kovář, while Roman Horák only fired twice into the side net. Sparta’s successful passage ended with the expulsion of Vítkovice, but our power play was bad.
On the other side, Krzysztof Macias tried to shoot from the right circle, but the alert Jakub Kovář took the goal away from him. Sparta was optically on top, while the visitors were dangerous from breaks. However, both goalkeepers did their best, especially Lukáš Klimeš brilliantly completed the move against Vladimír Sobotka’s shot into the open goal with a nimble catch.
In the dramatic conclusion, the head of the table with unpleasant pressure, but at the same time with the great support of more than nine thousand spectators, the onslaught of the guests. The final game without a goalkeeper was disrupted by a foul by Vítkovic, after which the visitors took a risk, and although they escape Daniel He added the puck didn’t hit the goal, the referee pointed to the goal area and with a technical goal confirmed the third home win in the but!
