the former mayor of Rinxent, Bernard Chaussoy, reported missing after an outing in the forest of Desvres
Mayor of the town of Rinxent since 2014, Bernard Chaussoy has been missing since September 23, after a walk in the forest of Desvres. The current mayor calls on his constituents to mobilize.
“I have just learned that Bernard Chaussoy, former mayor of the town, had not given any news since yesterday. I call on the population to mobilize to carry out searches at the entrance to the Bois de Desvres, coming from “Alinthun. I count on you” writing Nicolas Leuillet, the current mayor of the municipality of Rinxent.
On September 23, Bernard Chaussoy, mayor of the town of Pas-de-Calais for nearly 40 years, disappeared. He had gone to the forest of Desvres with his wife to pick mushrooms. The couple separated by meeting at their vehicle, but Bernard Chaussoy never returned. A first search took place during the day, bringing together relief and relatives of the former mayor, but this first search yielded nothing. The search resumed this Saturday morning, in the presence in particular of Nicolas Leuillet.
The gendarmerie considers this disappearance worrying, according to our colleagues from La Voix du Nord, who relay the description provided by the authorities in the hope of obtaining testimonies allowing Bernard Chaussoy to be found. He is described as a man “of 81 years old, 1.70 meters tall, 65 kilos, wearing a white goatee, an ocher jacket, blue jeans, walking shoes and a white bag for collecting mushrooms.”
