Erste Liga: Gyergyó won with man advantage goals in Debrecen
Gyergyói HK started its participation in the 2022-2023 edition of the Hungarian-based international hockey championship with a victory, after winning 5-2 as a guest of DEAC, which won the Super Cup against Ferencváros before the start of the championship.

Although DEAC won the Super Cup by beating Ferencváros in a surprise match before the start of the league, the people of Debrecen have not had much success since then, as last Friday the people of Ferencváros fought back for the fiasco in their first league match.
The number of successes did not increase against Gyergyó HK either, even though it didn’t start that way: DEAC took the lead after ten minutes with Dmitri Zalamay’s goal. Even though Orban Brance equalized before the break, at the beginning of the second 20 minutes the home team gained the advantage again with Rastislav Spirko’s goal.
After half an hour of play, however, the first exhibitions came. First, the collective Debrecen brigade was penalized for delaying the yellow game, and at the end of the third, Gergő Molnár was penalized for two minutes – neither time did the Debrecen players have to sit through the 120 seconds on the penalty bench, each time the exhibition ended with Péter Vincze’s goal.
At the beginning of the third period, Gyergyó had a man advantage for the third time, Sebastien Sylvestre’s long shot found its way into Zoltán Hetényi’s goal, and just 24 seconds later Ákos Szigeti rattled DEAC’s net (5-2).
With this, Gyeró beat DEAC for the eighth time in a row in the Erste Liga, primarily with the flawless use of man advantage.

MASTER SCALE
József György: – We led twice, we played well, and then Gyergyó equalized in the second period from an exhibition that could have scored ten in every game. We were only behind the Györgyos in terms of exploiting the situation, but I can’t say a single bad word about the team, as we played spectacular, creative hockey. What bounced inside there is outside for us, the luck factor is often a decisive factor.
Zoltán Szilassy: – We sold all three of our man advantages, which I think indicates a pretty good performance, as well as the fact that we did not play with a man disadvantage. In the middle of the second third, we fell out of rhythm a bit, that is, we played hockey as comfortably as if the goal was to get Debrecen’s fast players into position. However, the game provided in the third period was close to perfection, let alone the important victory.
