Another street is paved in the eastern part of Debrecen
Debrecen – Asphalting of Csűry Bálint utca opening from Létai út and construction of the rainwater drainage system has begun, it was announced on Tuesday.
Local government representative István Kovács said that the entire length of the street, 314 meters long, will be paved with 4 and a half meter wide asphalt pavement, with paved sidewalks on both sides. The contractor will also have to solve the stormwater drainage along the entire length of the street. István Kovács added that the people living there are waiting for the development. The municipality has often improved the condition of the road by grading, but asphalting will finally be a permanent solution.
The work was carried out by Vajda Mélyépító Kft., based in Hajdúhadháza, which won the contract in a public procurement with a bid of nearly HUF 84 million.
According to the contract, they have seven months to complete the development, but they hope to finish it earlier this year, weather permitting.
Member of Parliament László Pósán talks about the fact that Debrecen is a large city, compared to its population, the floor space is very large, and “no matter how hard we try, the city is growing faster than we can develop the infrastructure, so there is plenty of work to do”.
The representative added that the city’s economy is growing, but because of the war and the war, it grew more slowly than planned, so they are trying to examine the planned developments as energy.
The investment was purchased from Debrecen’s own funds.
In Debrecen’s 2022 budget, a higher amount than last year, 20.4 billion forints, was allocated for transport development, part of which will be used to continue the asphalting program. As is known, in the past these were called self-funded road constructions, but years ago, at the initiative of the Fidesz faction, the mandatory contribution of the population was abolished.
In 2022, the asphalting of the following streets may take place or may begin according to the budget: Csárda utca IV. phase, Felsőpércsi street III. phase (from Koriander utca to Csereág utca), Barakonyi utca, Csapszék utca, Csermely and Patak utca, Szent Mihály utca, Balásházy János utca, Dolmány utca, Csűry Bálint utca, Vashámor utca, Legányi utca 23-27. cul-de-sac section, Kartács utca (section between Lóverseny utca and Hajdú köz), Furulya utca (section between Pósa utca and Kadarcs utca), Kisbánya utca (200 meters), Köteles utca, Köszméte utca, Ribizli utca, Mézeshegy-Pipóhegy utca.
