28 outstanding players in domestic and international sports events received the title of Outstanding Athlete of the University of Debrecen. At the award ceremony, representatives of the university and the Debrecen Sports Center also signed a cooperation agreement to support the practical education of physical education majors.
Traditionally, the Outstanding Athlete of the University of Debrecen awards are presented before yoUDay. 28 students were able to receive diplomas, including Luca Kozák, European champion silver medal hurdler.
– It’s always a very, very big recognition for me, because my work is recognized not only by my own environment, but also by a slightly different environment, and I’m really very happy that the university is also following my career, and really supported me in everything from the beginning – said Luca Kozák.
The institution founded the title in 2006 for students who, in addition to their good academic performance, also perform outstandingly in their sport at the national or international level. Every year, more and more people receive a certificate of recognition.
– Among other things, they can be, like all the students we respect very much, is that they invest two or three times as much energy in their everyday life, because when others can relax, party, have fun between their studies, they go to training and competitions they go, they go to matches – emphasized László Balogh, director of the Sports Science Coordination Institute of the University of Debrecen.
An agreement was also signed at the ceremony.
The Debrecen Sports Center supports the practical education of students majoring in test education.
– The Úszó Nemzet Program – which will continue to grow, as this program will be expanded nationally – will require qualified instructors, in large quantities and in large numbers, and we count on the cooperation of the University of Debrecen to help train the instructors – said András Becsky, Debrecen Sports Center executive director.
The practical location for the training is provided by facilities participating in the Debrecen Sports Center and Swimming Nation Program.
