The new track is already being built on a southern section of the Budapest – Kelebia railway line
The works on the railway line between Budapest and Kelebia, which started a year ago, entered a faster phase. It is the main contractor of the entire Hungarian section of the Budapest – Belgrade modernization and capacity expansion investment RM International Zrt.a consortium of three members including V-Híd Zrt. as a subcontractor. Our paper has already written about the investment several times, we reported that work on the large-scale track stabilization machine had begun at the Kiskőrös railway station.
The Budapest – Kelebia track, suitable for a speed of about 160 kilometers, is built on an axle load of 22.5 tons, which enables fast passenger traffic and the transport of large goods.
They start the new trail on a new section
According to the information of our newspaper, on September 1st, on the Kiskunhalas – Kisszállás section, the earthworks of the new track began with machines and tools owned by V-Híd Zrt. The construction of artefacts related to the project, the erection of the overhead line poles, and then the construction of the railway track with the SMD 80 large-scale machine will start, the delivery of materials is continuous. A temporary safety device will also be installed in Kiskunhalas: this will take place in several stages.
From September 1 to next March, 278,640 meters of rails will be delivered.
István Sárváry, CEO of the contractor V-Híd Zrt in the recent period, he has repeatedly emphasized in his speeches that in recent years, around 20 billion forints have been invested in new machines, so V-Híd has all the tools necessary to build its commitments on time and with adequate quality.
Spectacular progress has been made in the past
At Kiskőrös, 6,100 meters of railway tracks, 21 detours, platforms and substructures, as well as the narrow-gauge railway track network, have already been demolished in recent weeks. To date, 3,500 meters of railway track and a road crossing have been completed. During the works, the station’s track geometry was completely transformed.
They design
- a new, modern station building,
- two through main tracks,
- two new covered platforms,
- underpass,
- and an elevator will be installed for barrier-free access.
In order to reduce the noise load, a 1.7 km long noise protection wall and 40 B+R and 20 P+R parking lots to help transfer are also being built.
Work is ongoing on additional sections between Soroksár and Kelebia. At Csengőd station, four tracks, buildings and an overpass were demolished, and the construction of the platform underpass began. Our paper reported on the works in a detailed article.
Kelebia station is also being rebuilt in several stages during the construction of the V-Híd.
Environmental protection is an important aspect
During the entire construction period, special attention is paid to environmental and nature protection. Bird protection was done, and the necessary relocation of individual plant and insect species was carried out jointly by the nature conservation expert, Kiskunság National Park specialists and members of the Futóhomok Nature Conservation Association.
